These Three Fairfield County Restaurants Ranked Among Tops In State For 2019 By Experts

Three Fairfield County eateries have been named among top contenders in the state on a list created by Connecticut Magazine.

The list was crafted based on opinions from “a panel of culinary experts.” Restaurants are categorized into various groups based on classifications including best new restaurants, most romantic restaurants, best American restaurants, and best restaurants for overall excellence.

The Fairfield County establishments that made the list include:

The Cottage, Westport: Making the list for “Best American” in addition to “Best for Overall Excellence,” The Cottage restaurant in Westport offers brunch and dinner options as well as an expansive wine list.

According to The Cottage’s website, the restaurant is majorly influenced by artisan farmers and growers throughout the region. Check out The Cottage, located at 256 Post Road E., and enjoy a custom meal from Chef Brian Lewis.

Kawa Ni, Westport: Japanese restaurant Kawa Ni, located at 19 Bridge Square in Westport, made the list for three separate categories: “Best Asian,” “Best Pho/Ramen” and “Best for Overall Excellence.” In addition to ramen, the establishment offers a variety of authentically-made dumplings, rice bowls and more. Thomas Henkelmann, Greenwich: Making the list for “Best For Overall Excellence,” Thomas Henkelmann restaurant, located at 420 Field Point Road in Greenwich, offers classic French cuisine. 

In addition to featuring a huge wine list, the menu is filled with contemporary French specialties the chefs claim are “prepared and presented flawlessly.” Stop in and try one of the restaurant’s many classic entrees, which include Maine lobster, domestic leg of lamb, Long Island duck and prime sirloin.
